Many people become caregivers overnight without having the basic skills or training to take on such a responsibility. Through Catholic Charities, Jean Mueller will present free four-hour comprehensive training sessions overs four Saturdays in July on the substantive skills required to care of another person. Skills such as falls prevention, lifting, medication safety, tolieting and dressing, dealing with incontinence and communicating effectively with health professionals, family members and the person receiving care.
Sessions will be held at the Waunakee Senior Center, July 10, 17, 24, and 31. For more information go to www.ccmadison.org or call Diane Walder at 442.7248.
