AVOIDING FINANCIAL SCAMS

No one is immune to financial scams whether they are via the mail, the phone or email.  Financial scams are getting very sophisticated says Paul Hoffmann. He warns people not to give out any account numbers, their social security numbers, or any other identifying information over the phone. Bankers encourage customers who receive letters in the mail or emails to bring them to the bank to make sure they are legitimate.

On this program, Paul Hoffmann describes some of the new and most popular scams such as the “grandparents scam” and the “lottery scam.” His advice: “Think before you act, and ALWAYS ask for a second opinion.
