FREE TO BREATHE: SURVIVING LUNG CANCER
/

Guests: Mary Henningfield, PhD, Director of Scientific Education and Research;  Susan Smedley Gerber, BSW, lung cancer survivor and Event Manager, Free to Breathe

What if you have been told you have lung cancer? What does this diagnosis mean for your future and your health? Lung cancer can affect anyone.  1 in 13 men and 1 in 16 women will develop lung cancer.  Lung cancer claims more lives than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined.  While smoking remains the leading risk factor, exposure to radon and many other risk factors exist.

Free to Breathe, a partnership of lung cancer survivors, advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry leaders, is on a mission to double the survival rate by 2022.  On this program, Mary Henningfield and Susan Smedley Gerber share the latest news on lung cancer facts and myths and new treatments that hold promise to accelerate survival.

To participate in the INAUGURAL MADISON FREE TO BREATHE 8-HOUR TEAM YOGA CHALLENGE on July 23 and to raise funds to help change the future of lung cancer, go to freetobreathe.org or call 1-844-835-4325.
