Guests: Dr John DeLamater, Professor of Sociology, UW-Madison; Christine Beatty, Executive Director, Madison Senior Center
Contrary to what society might say, growing older doesn’t mean that we cease to have the same desires as anyone else. The longing for love and the touch of someone near never go away. Yes, love is ageless.
On this program, Dr. John DeLamater, whose research includes sexuality across the life course, and Christine Beatty share the need for and the reality of intimate relationships that continue to flourish throughout the senior years. And that message is going public in Madison.
Hear about the Age of Love documentary film chronicling Speed Dating for Seniors and the thoughts and emotions of the participants that will be presented at the Madison Public Library on Tuesday, September 13, at 1:30. This will be followed by a health series presentation by Dr. DeLamater on Relationships in Later Life on Wednesday noon, October 5, at Monona Terrace. These free to the public preview events lead up to Speed Dating for Seniors (55 and older) at the Concourse Hotel on Thursday, October 13th. Speed Dating participants must register in advance. The fee is $5.00.
Seating is limited, so advance registration is encouraged for the film. Call the Madison Senior Center at 266-6581 for more information and to register.
