HEALTH CARE LEADERS PARTNER TO PROVIDE HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE
/

Guests:  Lynne Myers, President and CEO, Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care;  Dr. Toby Campbell, Chief, UW Health’s Palliative Care Program;  Dr. Pamela Wetzel, Interim Chief Medical Officer, UnityPoint Health-Meriter

Hospice care is available for those with a terminal illness whose life expectancy is 6 months or less. Palliative care focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness.  It is provided at any stage in a serious illness and often accompanies curative treatment.

Now, Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care, the largest non-profit hospice in Wisconsin, UW Health, and UnityPoint Health-Meriter are partnering to provide state-of-the-art, seamless, patient-centered hospice and palliative care to the patients they serve.  Sharing their expertise, the three health care organizations are working together to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs as well as the personal goals of their hospice and palliative care patients and their families.

On this program, Lynne Myers, Dr. Toby Campbell, and Dr. Pamela Wetzel, describe their new affiliation and what it will mean to the delivery of care to their patients and their families.
