A CONVERSATION WITH FORMER UW PROFESSOR JEREMI SURI
/

Guest:  Jeremi Suri, former UW-Madison professor, now Mack Brown Distinguished Professor for Global Leadership, History, and Public Policy in the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin

Jeremi Suri is no longer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, but he stays in touch with Wisconsin and wrote a front page editorial in the Wisconsin State Journal on September 11 of this years stating, America must have the courage to dream.

On this program, Jeremi Suri describes what he meant in his editorial – why he feels our efforts to protect ourselves have increased our suffering and left us less safe. Inequality has increased, and investments in critical public needs have decreased, states Suri.

Jeremi Suri also assesses our current global challenges – the despair in Aleppo, our relationship with Russia, NATO, ISIS, and more, and the leadership required to attain and maintain global stability.
